    Ricoh mpc 2500/3500 drum units

Hello. I am looking for responses please. If I was to charge for ricoh mpc 3500 black drum units to be modified to fit in the colour slots. Would people be interested ??

I would charge for either the modification to be done by me. Or i would charge to sell the drum unit already modified.

Please let me know guys what you think ??

Maybe the end user would be interested, not a tech who knows the ease of this procedure.

These drums are not made to be modified....ask any Ricoh rep. Such procedures could result in charge roller lines and a shorter drum life!

I have been doing this mod for over a year now. And have not seen any pcq issues.

Maybe your mod is better and could be worth paying for...

Yeah, he sands the edge of the connector 'til it's silky smoooothe.

Haven't had any issues on mods yet, ricoh tells you that so that you will pay the extra money to purchase the same damn unit just with different connectors. Same reason why the don't sell charge rollers by themselves because they know they are garbage and will make a fortune with new drum units instead of the obvious solution.

How much were you thinking of charging for two minuets work with a file?

Without trying to come across offensive, hes got a point. We've been doing it for as long as i can remember now and not had any adverse quality issues either. Just out of curiosity how much would you be charging?

Obviously Ricoh will tell you it cant/should be done to make money or they would have made the charge roller a spare part! Went on the course for these machines and the instructor indirectly to fit a black unit to the colours and do the mod so they must be doing it too?!?!

I've got it down to 10 seconds with a pair of diagonal side-cutters.

Ricoh direct engineers are instructed to fit black units to replace colour units in the field so double standards from Ricoh
