I have a mpc 2500 running poor black copies, almost like the dv is shot but not all the way across the page, the bottom of the counter sheet is perfect, but as it goes up its faded to the point of no print. I have replace the whole entire blk IU with one from a perfectly good running machine and the same problem, it also will not calibrate itself.
any ideas on this??

Try to move the laser shutter or remove it.
Update the firmware to solve this problem.

if the laser shutter is not jammed as mentioned previously, replace the laser unit.

Had this fault just before xmas. cleaned all the laser unit mirrors, replaced blk dev,drum no joy!!!

Replaced the whole laser unit B238-1854

just a thought, that part number is the EU one

I've had a lose transfer roller bushing on one side of the transfer roller assy. Had the same result as you described. Dirt on the laser shielding glass could also be the problem.

Have had 3 machines and firmware corrected problem for me. Engine must be at least 1.13 I think
