This one has me stumped. Paper does not leave the paper tray and it jams every time. Tray 2 works perfect. I updated firmware and swapped trays 1 and 2 paper feed units. Still jamed on tray 1. So I swapped trays 1 and 2 paper feed clutch and tray 1 still jams. Don't know where to go next???

I've had exactly the same, I was going to swap out thr I/O Board, and I was unplugging all the connectors, and I thought what the heck, and plugged them all back in, and guess what it worked, must have been a poor connection. The fault you are having sounds exactly the same. The fault i had was not even picking the paper up and showing jam, only from tray 1. Try it.Comment

I had a similar issue. Apply pressure to the rh cover and see if it changes anything. If it does beef up the door latch pin on the frame of the machine. I have successfully done this with some electrical tape. In my case the machine thought there was a jam even though no paper was being fed from tray 1 from machine vibration. you will notice there is alot of slop on the door catch.Comment

I had a similar error. I swapped out the complete feed assembly and have never been back. I had already done cultch motor etc.Comment

It may sound dumb, but check that the feed roller for that tray is in correctly. I had a jr tech install the feed roller backwards before. The 1-way bearing on the feed roller should be towards the front of the machine when you install it on the shaft. If it is installed backwards, it will not feed the paper from the tray.Comment

I would check that the paper feed roller is sitting in position and the plastic stay that holds the pf roller is also properly in place and inspect for wearing, I would also check the pf clutch it may be slipping. good luck.Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.Comment

Excellent......................
Nice to see a fix on the forum.
Many questions but hardly any closure, so will never know what it was.
THANK YOUComment

Same Issue Here...
I am having exactly the same problem, tray one jams (but does manage to feed out a few cm), and tray two works fine. Swapped clutches, feed units, trays, problem stays on the first tray. Im heading out right now to reseat the connectors, (thanks for the tip!) hopefully it doesnt need a board.
Thanks for the tip folks!Comment
