    FT 3713 E 54 code ?

Can someone help with an e 54 code? I am a tech, but I don't know how to get into service mode on this model. Is this code fuser related? Machine only has 49k.

There was also an RTB about false E54 calls. When the fusing unit is OK, the EPROM on the main board needs to be replaced.

oh lordy! its been avery long time ago but here goes nothing. Enter sp modes press clear modes, 1,0,7, then press and hold clear stop for 5 seconds. press auto image density button press 9,7 then pres either auto again on the # key. then do a main power off/on. This could be a thermistor, the machine has a power Triac mounted somewhere, bad AC drive board, or main board. my book says the lamp is staying on too long and /or temperature change is not being seen at the main board, so the machine shuts down to prevent a meltdown.

I think that is the wrong access code for the 3713. If I recall correctly, it is an old machine and sim was entered with clear modes/ clear stop/ enter but in the case of a fusing code, I think you have to turn on a dipswitch and off on the back of the machine with power on. Good luck findin a thermistor, or a fusing lamp for that machine. I think they are most likely long gone from most vendors.

There is a dipswitch on the mainboard. It has 2 switches. When you switch no. 2 to ON and reboot the machine, you're in service mode.

Thanks to everyone that has helped on this issue. I don't think I am willing to buy a manual for a one shot deal. I will try your suggestions sometime tomorrow and see what kind of progress I can make.
