    MP C5000/Savin C5050 Quality issues

Got a Machine we have been having problems with. Any paper over 20lb is ghosting the color images after you run a 100. It has a new Fusing Unit, transfer roller unit. The DV/Drums/Transfer Unit itself are pretty new. Color quality is wonderful. But the ghosting of images is eluding us. It looks like improper fusing.

Any suggestions? This is happening even on 24 lb paper. Hammermill Color Laser quality stuff.

When's the last time it had an ITB cleaning unit?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Maybe an unnecessary question, but what happens if you set the media weight to thick paper?

i have a few of these out and they all sem to need to be run on some kind ofthick mode if you are copying anything with large solids or over 80 gsm i think its due to not having an oil roller. they seem too jam moreon large coverage prints it like a step dowm from the 45s

Today, no change. in quality. We brought a C2525 up there and it has run the rest of the day no prob with that paper. Can't figure it out. The C5050 has new Fusing Unit, ITB Cleaning Unit, Transfer Belt Unit, Transfer Rolller Unit. The only thing NOT New is Drum/DV's

usually anything after 24lbs is thick paper mode only, had that problem with a 3235 and a tech had changed all the fuser temperature settings in service mode and mess things up but after I got back to default I put thick paper for 24lb paper always with no problem.

I've had to increase the default fusing temperatures by 10 - 15 degrees.

Machine is in shop. Gonna try that updating Firmware, LOOK for a REPLY TODAY. Every after Running 20lb standard white paper it starts to improper fuse. Ricoh did recommended cranking the temp up in SP's which we tried. Default was 165/170 I think and went all the way up to 185, they said don't go higher. It took longer for the fusing problem to occur, but it eventually did.

Updating Firmware did not solve issue. Still has problem on 20lb paper after 130ish prints. Tried 28lb paper on medium paper settings ran 150 no problem. Examined fuser and noticed dent in what I think is the Pressure Roller (Orange) The Fusing Unit is NEW which really sucks. Gonna order The Hot Roller and Pressure Roller and Rebuild the new fuser since we know the old fuser is worn out.

What kind of prints are they doing? I've had this problem often with full coverage. Use Thick paper setting or increase fuser temp for normal mode.

I also had this problem once and it turned out the customer was using aftermarket toner.

All Savin Bran toner straight from us. And Not full coverage. 4-5 images on a page, maybe 1.5inchx2inch. Surrounded by lots of Text.

Printed the Savin C5050 Service manual and it did it, go fig.

Letting everyone know we think we have it fixed after much testing.

Removing the Fuser Fan Filter and setting the temps to what the Manual says is default and not the SP modes seems to have fixed the fusing problem.
