Have a wierd one here, need any ideas.

I was having registration problems, so I replaced the registration rollers (gears were worn) and all clutches (reg, relay, feed) now I'm getting a Z-fold at the reg roller at the bottome of the paper, jam code 61. Paper is making it out of the machine about an inch when the jam takes place. If you print out a counter sheet, the serial number is shrunk like the paper is stalling. Any ideas would be appreciated.

image shrunk, z-fold at the bottom of the paper......sounds to me like the registration roller rotates too slow, are you shure, that you have replaced the correct reg rollers? (diameter?), also check for a slippery reg clutch

Also is the reg roller turning freely? Maybe got something bound up when you put it back together.

Yes, I called Ricoh tech support and I have the correct registration roller.. I replaced the Registration clutch with a new one. the Reg roller turns freely. I replaced the fuser with a new one and it didn't help. I would think with a zfold that the reg roller would be turning to quickly for the fuser to take it out, no? At least my boss got them a loaner, cuz this one could take a while to find. Reg. sensor passes input/output check. Tech support of course said to replace the SBCU board, but I really think it's mechanical in nature. Thank you for your input.

I guess I should clarify the shrinking. It's just at where the serial number is, before and after the serial number the image is fine, so it just seems to stall right there on every copy.

It is the same from both drawers and from letter SEF and LEF and Legal. Didn't try the bypass.

Go back and check your work. It sounds like a clutch is overdriving possibly. Make sure the locking tabs on the clutch bodies are securely in place on the stopper tabs in the machine, and that everything is plugged in well.

Are you the only one that has worked on this box? I'd be willing to bet someone was playing with the loop adj to compensate for a worn clutch. Check your loop and reg settings.
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

I've had this box for about a year now. No problems until the registration was off and varying, thus the replacement of clutches and Registration rollers. The registration is right on now though...lol

if it is z folding the clutch must be overdriving or sticking on
if you still have the old clutch try it and see if it changes anything

                        This is a classic !
Just replace the registrationclutch and you'll be fine.
Probably you did not seat the clutch onto the notch wich is keeping the clutch in place and so the clutch turns a bit on the axle !
technicians are the only ones that don't trust technical stuff !

I did have the clutch seated properly, but it ended up being a bad registration clutch out of the box. I replaced it again and it did the trick. Thanks for all your help.
