When I make a copy on either the glass or through the document handler there is a white fine line through the entire length of copy . But when I print of a copy counter print its gone . I cleaned optics and checked everything and cant figure out where this blank line is coming from .Any ideas anyone ?

This could be a problem from the laser unit. Try cleaning the toner shield glass to check for any fibres in the unit itself. or it could be a stripper pawl rubbing off the image from the drum after copying process. -
If the prints are fine then yes, the problem is in the optics. I would clean the optics and white reference plate thoroughly 1 more time but I suspect you may have a defective element on the CCD.Comment

I had something like this a couple of weeks ago on a 2238C. Turned out to be a black hair stuck to the white plate. I would replace the white plate with a known good one.Why do they call it common sense?
If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?Comment

It could still be a problem with the laser glass, make sure that the missing bit is not outside of the text on the meter reading print - try doing a skyshot and see if you can see it there.
I concede it could also be a problem with the optics, but the reading sheet doesn't have enough text on the page to check this totally.Comment
