MP7500 - J131 and SC725 only when using Collection

Remember when I said the FS board was a new one?

Well, there was a connector on the lower left side of the board not completely plugged in. It worked well for a couple of weeks and then, with the machine's trepidation, came ever so slightly out, causing this problem.

Any way to turn completely off the stapler/booklet portion of the finisher, for diagnosing purposes?

After looking for a while, we noticed that the actuator on the sensor, triggered by the exit belt on the rear side of the staple tray, was missing and threw up some wierd codes. Swapped the sucker out and hey presto.......

Is this particular finisher the booklet making type?

Well, if you're talking about the actuator that detects the home position of the belt that carries the stapled paper out of the stacker, then that sensor and its actuator are fine - just checked them again. Thanks for the tip, tough.

I had a fault a little while ago that sounds similar to this. I took me a while but with a little help got there in the end. I can't quite remember the actual error codes, but they sound similar.

SC 725 Exit guide motor (B246)
The status of the exit guide sensor did not change at the prescribed time during operation of the exit guide.
• Exit guide open sensor loose, broken, defective.
• Exit guide motor defective
• Finisher main board defective

I'm completely puzzled by this one. When copying in Collection mode, the paper stops mid-exit, giving out a J131. When removing the jam, the machine throws a SC725 code and then lets us work only if we don't sellect Collection. If we cycle the power, we can use the machine without using collection, and if we try to select collection it's back to the beginning.

I've been checking sensors and motors, but it keeps the same - I'm probably missing something important.

The machine's control board is spanking new (less than a month old) and the firmware is up-to-date.
