    [Error Code] MP4000 random error SC101-01 & 101-02

We are working on a Lanier LD040 (Ricoh MP-4000) product code D011 that give random error SC101-01 and SC101-02. We have also had a couple of errors SC-991.
Mode 4020-01 (ADF Scan Glass) is set to "0" (OFF).
We've replaced the SBU & I/O PCBs with no success.
We thought about the exposure lamp but it does come on and when we called to get a price for the lamp, our vendor had never ordered this lamp before so it is not commonly replaced.
The bottom side of the White Plate of the RADF seems fine other than the edges are worn to the point where you can see the metal. But that is only on the edges, other than the edges all of the inner center area is in good shape.
Could our problen still be that white plate?
Should we replace the exposure lamp?
Has anyone experianced this problem before?
Are there any bulletins on this issue?
Thanks in advance - Any input is appreciated.

I would replace the exposure lamp. The harness could have a break the may momentarily open as it moves or the lamp itself could be weak (not really noticeable to the eye but will cause an error condition). I have had both issues occur in the past, with the lamp harness having been secured too tight.

I have one that when the user called for something else mentioned getting partial black copies a couple times. I ordered a lamp in case they call again I can't remember if there were codes logged or not.

Agree with previous writers on exposure lamp. There is some extra info on SC101.
        SC101
        D-code
        Exposure lamp error
        -001: Shading at AGC
        -002: Shading at scanning
        • The standard white level was not detected properly when scanning the white plate
        • Exposure lamp defective
        • Lamp stabilizer defective
        • Exposure lamp connector defective
        • Standard white plate dirty
        • Scanner mirror or scanner lens out of position or dirty
        • SBU defective
The peak white level is less than 64/255 digits (8 bits) when scanning the shading plate. (The shading data peak does not reach the specified threshold)
        Good luck!

We have ordered the lamp. Thanks for your inputs. Hopefully that will be it, if not I'll return.
          Have a great weekend.

The white plate used for the lamp reference voltage is actually under the slit glass holder. It's a strip of white tape and I have never seen that be a problem (when the mfp is initializing, you'll see the scanner move under the slit glass back/forth). The white metal plate you're referencing is what the original passes over and is white to reduce backgrounding on thinner paper. Being worn on the edges shouldn't affect the copies/scans.
