Ricoh 1232c intermittant print quality fault

Please see the attachment for the print quality fault I am getting on a clients Ricoh 1232c copier. . .

The PCU was replaced 15k ago and the problem went away.

I noticed the transfer waste toner bottle was way full and over spilling at the back so vacced it out and installed new waste toner bottles.

    The problem still intermittantly there!!!

I am suspecting possibly a faulty charge coroner wire/grid may be arcing?

This happens on colour prints too. . . .

    Any help is much appreciated.

I think you've pretty much got it nailed with the corona unit. Is there any reason you didn't replace it with the PCU? They should really be changed as a pair. I've seen blocked filters also cause this kind of quality issue. Has it had a set recently?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

You must also chech the chute between the wtb and the cleaning unit as this can get blocked and cause the kind of problem you're experiencing.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.

There are four filters in the back of the machine that need to be replaced every 120k.

            I can only see 2 filters on the bacmk of the machine. . . . . 2 exhaust fan filters. . .

I changed the charge corona but still the same.

In fact, the prints are missing areas of print now like on the counter page, the triangle is missing half of it.

I have no other thoughts other than replacing the PCU again . . . .

I think You might have a problem with cleaning, both, OPC belt or Image transfer belt...

try to change the 2 spring clutches of the ITB and image belt drive unit. it seems that your ITB cleaning unit doesn't return to home position after cleaning. i know it is not easy to remove the drive unit and replace the clutches but it may help to solve your problem.

Replace the whole drive unit B0514807. The hardest part is carefully removing the board that covers the drive unit and making sure you get all of the wires reconnected correctly. Carefully observe and note the connections on the board before you remove them, there are a couple unused and a couple identical that you can plug the wrong harness back into.

                        Thanks teebee1234

I cannot find this part number in my manual. . . . . .what page is it on in the parts manual?

                        I already have a 1224c in pieces that I could use but unsure which to use. . . . . . .
