lanier ld116 Line on lead edge.

This machine has a line on the lead edge no matter which direction you feed it in. I cleaned the optics and was wondering if it may be the doc feed scan speed, showing the edge of the paper. Is this a common issue on this type of machine?

How's the registration? Do you get the line when you copy off the platen? If you overlay the copy on top of the original, is there much of an image shift? You may have to go into the SP mode and adjust the registration and maybe some edge erase.

I have had to readjust doc feeder registration from time to time on all machines.
      Ricoh is no exception.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Sounds like an ADF registration/erase margin adjustment should fix it.
