    C2050 w/ internal finisher

So I'm setting up this dog in the shop this morning and got to installing the finisher and it jams everytime. The inverter rollers wont turn. In output mode they turn. In duplex mode they turn. When the finisher inverter is holding the gate closed they dont turn. I checked the fuser exit sensor and the inverter sensor and they test OK in input check mode.
I cant figure out what signals them to turn on when the finisher is installed. The paper travels the same path as when it is set to duplex, past the first gate and into the inverter rollers.
Is there a sensor to detect when that first gate is closed? I only see 3 sensors, paper exit, fuser exit and inverter, all of which work fine.

hi joms check that the finisher and inverter unit are engaged tightly. if the inverter unit is not detected the inverter rollers will not turn. the inverter unit is connected only to the finisher.
