Hello all,

Every 50 to 100 copies machines goes into SC 495. Toner bottle unit error according to the Service Manual. Found that air pump wasn't pumping toner through. Found plugged hose (long) leading to the lower connection on the toner hopper. Cleaned all hoses and replaced air pump motor. Cheked toner bank assy. ok. Still goes into the code! Any suggestions?

Is this on a Bellini?

1. If the model is a Bellini you may need to prime the toner hopper unit again if it's lost to much of it's toner supply.
(Depending on the model use the special red gear and excute SP2207-002, takes about 5 minutes to complete).

2. Could be a faulty toner hopper sensor.

3. Could indictate a blockage further down the toner transport.
(Check the toner supply coil clutch is providing drive, check there is toner getting to the pump using the output test).

It's hard to say sitting here, but those are a few things that spring to mind as possible causes.

I would suggest you to clean the toner recycling gear that passes through the sensor.

Thanks guys for your input. Main problem was plugged hose which took out air pump, but after replacement and cleaning, toner set up SP 2207-002 with (red dev gear installed) wasn't filling in the toner hopper. Toner transport coil would work for 5-6 seconds along with the air pump, just long enough for me to see that toner supply tank is getting the toner. I would put the cap back on, and machine would work for 5-7 min. Screen would say "completed", but the hopper was empty. Finally I've run toner bank, coil and air pump manually and after 3 min. hopper was full and machine worked.

Ran across the sc495 today. After vac out of all recycling tubes and cleaning photo sensors on the recycling unit I found a staple in the rear auger assembly. Along with some clumping toner stuck to the insides of the recycling tubes. Service Manual indicates sensor on dv unit or overload on recycling drive.

I've been replacing the tubes as a PM item along with the pump. It's kind of a pain at first, but it can save a call and head aches down the road.

I received this code toay on a Lanier LD1135. I looked the code up and it all points to the Toner recycling. I will check these tips to resolve.
