        Hello guys, hello voltage,

nice to be a part of your site. i hope to help others with my years of experiences in the print industry. I'm master of print technology and an expert in finding the right technology for the printing job.

different to analog printer it's sometimes hard to find i logic solution inside the rom of a digital printer ...
in this case it takes me to you.

after getting no A5 prints out of the second paper tray, i was stupid enough to make the wrong and only one reset of this cl7000 which should not be done. so now i have the same output in the display and i cant even access the web interface configuration pages. the original password didn't work any more; only japan and english language is choose able and the machine wont start printing.

are you sure that there is no other way of getting back the european settings a.s.o. after the nc reset without changing the controller board? by the way, why and for what operation should this switch in the service menu necessary?

... and if so did you only change the controller board without additional adjustments?

        thank you so far &
        with best regards

but in this case - the nc reset change only the nv-ram right? so in new ic nv-ram should fix it?

A new nvram would be completely clear, so no, it wouldn't fix it.

I mean a new programmed IC
                or e.g. from another cl7000?

That wont work, it would code out right away with a mismatched serial number.

                    Interesting!
So how whould you make it? It sounds so that you know the procedure?!

The hole controller board send to ricoh and they'll programm it new?
If so how will they do that. Is it possible to flash the ic via internet?

                    thanks a lot!

Ricoh doesn't repair boards anymore, at least on this side of the pond. If you can find an authorized repair center they can do it for you. i.e Hytec Board Repair in Florida.

So - of course it prints but ...

How was the registration of the four colors after the replacement? I thought all laser units comes with individual parameters from the manufacture which were written in the board.
Or did you have a backup from all these parameters and put in all the adjustments in the machine again?
If not it sounds for me that you are maybe lucky that it prints marvelous.

                        Thank you for further information!
