    MP7500 Printer "Off Line"

Intermittent print jobs fail to print. Replaced print controller, rebuilt print driver on Server 2003 with latest driver. When prints fail, the server status shows the MFP is off line, yet the I can ping the MFP and open the WIM. This MFP has an Equitrac unit for print/copy cost recovery. Thoughts?
I'm trying to think, but nothing happens...

My experience with equitrac being used to track prints, I believe they have to input an account number to release the print jobs.

Server 2003 has had some problems with SNMP enabled printers. On basic setups I have disabled SNMP in the port settings or Microsoft has released a hotfix for it The print queue status is displayed as "Offline" on a Windows Server 2003-based print server if SNMP is enabled and if the printer devices do not respond to SNMP commands

users enter account info at point of print... not to release prints. this is SOP for equitrac. Thanks anyway.

SNMP is required for electronic meter services like @Remote or FMAudit (which my company uses). SNMP is fine. This company has 12 other MFPs and 10 printers from us with SNMP enabled... no problems. Thanks for playing!

Mmmmmm... I may have a similar issue, customer complained of MPC7500 dropping some jobs, data light flashes on machine, then job "disappears" according to customer. This is one of a pair of machines with adjacent I.P details, running with Equitrac. The customer also has various other Ricoh machines running in the same cofiguration, seemingly with no problems. I've not seen the fault happen.

I am lead to belive that if the clock times are out on the server and the copier the server thinks the job has been printed so the job just gets deleted are you running the latest equitrac as this will fix many problems

I have no experience with the MP7500 and I only have one customer running Equitrac on the MPC3000, AF3025 & AF2015 in the same office.

They're all setup for printing with the PCL6 driver and haven't reported any problems.

Which print driver are you using?

Sometimes 'see an error on Ricoh printers that causes the devices to incorrectly report an offline condition after the printer operator has pressed 'job reset' on the printer.

Roadking did you ever figure out what was causing it to go offline?

I had a similar issue on an MPc5000 w/ W2k SP2 and tried unchecking SNMP to no avail. I also tried changing to the PCL5 driver, etc.

I replaced the controller and it quit going offline.

The reason I ask is because when I first Googled it, there were multiple hits on W2k causing printers to go offline.
