    AF3030AD sc544/sc991

    Hi,

I have one aficio 3030 and when i turn it on i get sc544... first thing i change themistors, then i change thermostat and still have the same problem. Then i change the power board and the sc code desapear and then i close the machine and when i turn it on sc code back.
i went to sc history and i get this codes:
    - sc 544
    - sc 991 - eng. fuser.c
    - sc 544
    - sc 991
    etc..

then i update firmware: controller, printer, scanner, sbcu and language.

after that i turn the machine and still have the sc544. i clean sc codes and code desapear... i print the counter control and sc543.
i want to change the sbcu now to check if problem is not from ther but anyone knows if is the same as 3025? becouse i only have one 3025 and is working fine.

    regards.

Yes, the SBCU, B209 5051 is the same for both the 3025 and 3030

I would replace the Power Supply (if your Fusing Unit is OK). I've had this one a few times and replacing the Power Supply solved it.

Just searched a bit further and I've found the following :

          [Symptom]
SC544 (Fusing Lamp Overheat Error - Hardware) appears frequently.
SC544 (Fusing Lamp Overheat Error - Hardware) appears when the machine is turned on. SC543 (Fusing Lamp Overheat Error - Software) may also appear. These SC codes may appear, even after replacement of the fusing unit thermistors and thermostats, the fusing unit, and PSU.
          [Cause]
The contact of the connectors (CN209) of the fusing unit thermistors/thermostats at the BCU was poor.
Use the SP mode to check the fusing temperature and if the CN209 connector is operating, raise the displayed fusing temperature. SP1105 (Fusing Temperature Adjustment) SP1106 (Fusing Temperature Display) Answer At the BCU bend the CN209 connector manually fixed and reconnect CN209.

I can check the fusing temperature when i go to sp mode. i already remove all conectors from the bcu board and reconect all one by one. i turn on the machine and all fine but after few seconds sc544 apears.

Then you're probably right about the SBCU. It's the only part that's left.

today i remove the bcu from the 3030 and i put on the 3025 machine.. when i power on the machine i got sc544, i reset the code but still give me 544. so the problem is from the bcu. i turn off the machine and turn on again and then sc 995. incompatible controller board. the only solution is order one sbcu from ricoh.

Odd, the parts catalogue doesn't say the BICU is different between the machines.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                      Hit it.

i remove the 3030 bicu board from the problematic machine and i put the bicu in one 3025 and i got sc544 then after power off and on i got sc995. i remove the board and i put back the original bicu from the 3025 and o turn on the machine and everything is fine at least the machine goes on ok, i can print the counter paper, make copies etc. i already ask a cotation from one bicu board for 3030 and the goes around 370 euros.

                          3030 bicu - B2095050

the only thing that changes is letter after the part number. this is the part numbers i have from the 2 bicu boards that i have in my hands.
