    paper stopping

ricoh 1045: customer says if they run single copies no problem; if they try for 5 or more first copy will exit then paper stops inside fuser just before exiting copier. after clearing every copy stops at the same place. copier has over million copies with new feed tires and clutcheds. i did remove the bridge unit which appeared to be the problem but wasn't. thinking faulty exit sensor???
    Thanks!!!

Just do an input check on all the sensors in the paper part/exit section. You'll see immediately if they're working or not...

But I would suggest stripping out the entire exit section and making sure everything is in good & clean condition... Check those grey/black rollers on the shaft - they need to be VERY clean(will sometimes cause intermittend misfeeds). You can also check if the roller is maybe loose on the shaft causing it to slip.....?

What is the Jam code you're getting?

Try to replaced the fuser exit sensor. Its located above the transport belt unit.

As said, The sensor is on the door obove the Transfer unit. It was known to fail on early machines. If the connector on the sensor is white it should be upgraded to one with a red end.

Don't forget those stupid bloody pads in the interchange unit, they go sticky after a while and keep hold of the junction gate.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

            Hit it.
