    MPC 2500 Magenta/Cyan Background Problem

    Hi friends.

We are having an weird problem. When a copy is made on glass it shows a magenta/cyan (almost purple) background all over the page. This started after another problem: all glass copies had multi color lines all over the page. The optical parts were cleaned and now the copier has this behavior, weird like I said. Is something like saturation, I don't know exactly what... This happens with glass copies only. ADF copies and prints don't have this problem.

I will attach a picture with actual problem.

    Regards,

    Patrick

That's odd. Give the optics another clean, white reference plate included. Then run ACC and see what happens.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

looks like one of the scanners or mirrors got knocked out of whack when they were cleaned
Don't take that toner with me!

This may not be related to your issue since you didn't state one way or another if ADS was on or off, but I found this in the Knowledge Base (I've seen this problem brought up previously by someone else in the forum a while ago and I think this was their fix, not 100% sure).
          -----------------------------------------------------------
          [Problem]
Background when ADS is Turned Off
          Details

In Full Color mode the background is a process black. In Black and White mode the background is gray.
With ADS is turned ON there is no evidence of background, but when ADS is turned OFF and exposure is at
the center setting, background is visible.
NOTE: Print Jobs and internal prints do not exhibit any background.

          [Cause]

          The Gray Balance Adjustments (SP4685-001 and 002, SP4686-001, and 002, SP4687-001 and 002) have
          reverted to their default values.

          [Action]
