MP2000 strange problem copy a5 documents

    Hi,

Hi recieve one MP2000 and everything works fine except the machine is having a problem copying the a5/a6 documets front/back in the same page.
When put the document in the glash and i choose the combine 2 originals and i press copy the machine read like the paper is a3 and when i change the document in the glass to make the copy the machine reads again and make me the copy of the document in one paper a4 but there is a line the came out in the midle of the paper.
but if i make the copy with the adf open i dont have any problem becouse the machine reads not like a3 but like a4. but when i make the copy i get the document ok but a lot of black areas becouse the adf is opened.
i already clean all the 4 sensors ( 2 that detect the paper size from the glass and 2 that stays in the adf. but i still have the same problem. did someone alreadu have this kind of problem?
    regards.

That divider line can be turned on/off in user tools.

and about the problem with the adf closed reads like a3? and when its opened read like a4? i have one mp2000 in front of me and i cant find how to cancel the divider line. i believe the line is making becouse is detecting like a3 but since i choose the paper a4 tray manualy so he his dividing.
if i put one paper a4 upper of the a6 document the line dont appear.

I understand now, what's wrong is the copier is not seeing the adf close and lock in the paper size, so it measures the entire white platen sheet. There is an adf closed sensor at the hinge, check that the actuator is there and the sensor is ok. Just to the left of the right hinge is a feeler that drops down from the adf, it engages a sensor on top of the scanner bed just below it. That is the APS sensor that "snapshots" the paper size as it closes. If it doesn't see the actuator it can only measure the entire white platen board.

Just a guess, try putting the paper on the adf: SEF, sort edge feed.

              teebee1234,

problem solved. i change the APS sensor and the problem was fixe... about the line in the middle of the page was the adf that was out of place. now everything is working perfect again.
              thanks for your help.
