Well you are right, iMind, they look the same. But if you compare the P2P to the pix I posted, that cotton-pickin' blue jumper is not on pins 1 and 2 as is indicated on the P2P. Maybe the US versions and the EU versions are different. There is a tech out there now with the fuser and he will physically check the jumper position.sigpic

I was assuming that the blue wire jumper was the new detection, but it isnt, it is the fusing area setting. Pins 4 and 6 are for US. New detection must be two black wires. Maybe no changes at all for printer to copier?sigpic

Here is the answer. You will notice that the left blue wire (destination) is moved one pin to the left, leaving 2 not 1 space between the wire. Not shown in either schematic.

If in doubt swap the entire wiring, no need to guess which wires to swap then.
Has anyone worked which printer the MPC5501 would be the same as?Comment

Re: Using a SP820D fuser in a C5000
::EU Fuser (Aust) ::
SPC820 printer fuser into MPC copier conversion.
Move pin 1 into pin 2 slot.
Disconnect the counter reset fuse. (Its not required.)
Reset the fuser counter manually in service mode.
