Ricoh Aficio 1022 Image Ghosting Problems

My technician installed a new Upper Fuser Roller and Bearings (roller showed wear and bearings were frozen) and that seemed to resolve the image ghosting. However, the client just called and said the ghosting was back.

I am about ready to put a hand grenade in this machine! Any suggestions, other than violence?

A couple of things can cause this - non OEM toner, pressure roll old (gets soft, rpl with AE020161)). Attached is a tech bulletin with an SP adjustment to address this (requires firmware at a certain level).

the offset created for 2035 and i followed the steps described in the updated(new version) service manual and this Ghost problem is eliminated.

Thanks, but the problem is not Raised Text, but a ghost image on the copy.

Yes I set all my 1022 and 2022 fuser temp to 158 to eliminate build up on the upper roller and ghosting.

Are the discharge lamps working? I've seen this a couple of times, check them,it may help.

Replace also the press roller and do the modifications of teebee

I have had ghosting problems on this model caused by the PCU. You might try another PCU. The pressure roller could also be the problem, as previously mentioned, since it was not replaced.
