Aficio AP3800C - Problem - Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) Takes Multiple Sheets

    Hello,

My ADF Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) on top of my Aficio 3800C is having problems.

I'll put about 20 or 30 sheets into the feeder and it will take all 30 sheets and jamb it into the ADF. This is a recent problem.

Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Below is a picture of my unit. You can see the ADF on the very top. This is identical to my unit.

    Thanks.

Check the torque limiter on the sep roller. They have a tendency to crack and lose friction. If not that, check the drive/one ways - its obvious you have no seperation going on. Either the torque limiter is slipping or you have no reverse drive to the sep roller.

        teebee1234,

        Thanks for the advise.

Here is the picture of my, I believe, SEP roller. You can see from the pictures that it has a crack (click on the picture to enlarge it). Do you know if this is called the SEP roller, and do you know the Mfg Part number for this cracked piece? It has the number on it of "A247272900A" and "2A19", however, I did a google search for those numbers and nothing came up. Thanks a bunch!

A2472729 (updated to A2946700) will be the part number for the torque limiter. It's seperate from the roller itself, which is part # A8592241 (replace this also).
