    [Dead] Aficio 3035 won't start

Hello and good afternoon! (my clock is 2.25pm )

I've a machine, Aficio 3035 which couldn't start at all. Only the "main power" light is on.
Since we have no idea what causes this, we started guessing game ; and have swapped power supply, control panel and controller board but still the same problem...any idea?

It appears there is a dc voltage leakage to the ground. check all the dc current supply...i.e..solenoids, clutches, switches, motors etc. there coulld be a man made or technician error while fixing back the screws in the machine. one of the wires could be exposed & touching the machine chassis.

I'd definitely agree with the last poster, check no harnesses are damaged and shorting out to the frame.

If it has a service logbook, check where the machine has had work previously, esp if it has had feed/reg clutches replaced and or tray lift springs and/or lift motors, I've has this exact same problem on a couple of occasions where harnesses have not been routed back correctly.

Can be a Bad Connection in controller board connector. There are many causes like user above posted, but this one that i mentioned happened with me.

I had this problem with Ricoh 1356. I changed all boards of the machine and the cable which connects the all boards and the machine was not working again. At the end I found a cable that was damaged and was attached to the sheet metal of the machine. Once the correct cable machine start working again correctly. You have a damaged cable I am sure that .

Check in the interchange unit. there is a whire up there that isn't used, but they run it across the roller shaft and shorts it out causing this. I just run the wire through the wire holders that the other wires run through and that takes care of it.

I've checked the wires and connectors, and while it seems like there aren't any exposed wires, after i've unplugged and replugged the connectors on laser unit, BICU, IOB, and controller again, it works back again! however now it say paper jam (with no papers) at the first startup ...probably wires again....=.="
