[Jamming] The page stuck in the first roller

    Hi:

Im not a technician in printer . Im just a programmer that have a problem with my lazer printer. I have spended reasonable amount of money trying to get the machine fixed. Here in my country (Panama) i have not been able to find qualified support to fix it. By the way, sorry for my english.

    I have a RICOH AFICIO SP C410DN

The problem is that every time i try to print a document, and the paper came from the paper tray, it stuck in the first roller, the one behind the registration guide.
If i use the by pass tray, i have no problem printing.

I think that might be that this piece is damaged DC Motor - Shutter Assembly (G102 2985 from the Manual Part G160)

Is there any way to test if that motor is damage? Could be other things to check? thank you in advance.

Two things to check with this machine. First off, when's the last time it had a new feed tyre and friction pad? They are part of the fuser maintenance kit. If you don't have any, clean the feed tyre with WD40 and the friction pad with white foam cleaner. Let them both dry thoroughly. Second, when you take the tray out of the machine and look in the left side of it in line with the feed tyre, you should see three sensor actuators. Are they all there? Motors don't often fail on these machines on the feed side, only toner supply. The "first roller" you mention is the registration roller. Give it a clean off with a bit of WD40. That should sort you out.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

      Hi:

the feed tyre and the friction pad are working correctly as i can see. I just cleaned as you sugest me.

The page just reach the GF02-0034 Roller:Middle and stop. It is attached to GX20-0021 Magnetic Clutch:0.25nm, so i think is this magnetic clutch which is broken or damaged some way. Is any way to test it? I just found that piece in precitionroller.com for 75.00 bucks but i would like to test it before buy it.

      TIA.

      Aldo.

Get ya hands on a service manual if you want to try troubleshooting these clutches and motors. I've just had a flick through my manual and its a bit too long winded to explain here in a post.
And if you were going to ask me for the manual, sorry, no can do. But I 'm pretty sure you will be able to find one here.

You need to go to service tables>output/input mode to test individual components.

              Hi:
              Expain me something:

I just get into the service mode, to
              ENGINE(Class3)
              5.804.060 PaperFeedClutch

If i press OK, it say

              ON OFF

              to select one.

How this test if the Motor, that i suspect is failing is working or not?
The piece i suspect is failing is GX20 0021 from the drive section in the Service Part Manual.

I dont understand what happend if I set any of this settings off or on?

              thank you.

                Important:
                • Misfed paper may be covered in toner. Be careful not to get toner on your hands or clothes.
                • Toner on prints made after removing misfed paper may be loose (inadequately fused). Make a few test prints until smudges no longer appear.
                • Do not forcefully remove misfed paper, it will tear. Torn pieces remaining inside the printer will cause further misfeeds and possibly damage the printer.
                • More than one misfed area might be indicated. In this case, check every applicable area.
                • If paper continues to misfeed, check the following points.
                  • Confirm that the setting of the paper size dial matches the size and feed direction of the paper loaded in the paper tray.
                  • Confirm that the toner cartridge is set correctly.
                • If paper misfeeds still occur, contact your sales or service representative
