Re: Problem with fuser on mpc4500
You have exceeded the PM cycle for the fuser (160k), so that should be the first thing you do. The fuser maintenance kit is PMB222160K. The kit has all of the required parts that need to be replaced. If you've never done a rebuild before then I strongly recommend that you take a loaner fuser to the customers and swap it out, then take the worn one back to your shop to work on it. It can be very frustrating to work on and will take patience and some time on your part the first few times. You don't want to service it in the customers office where you will be distracted ("How much longer?", "Is it ready yet?", "Can I just make a quick copy?").
You are correct in your assumption that the heavier coverage and thick paper is causing faster wear and tear than your normal accounts, just like a car towing a trailer with severe conditions will require more frequent servicing.Last edited by teebee1234; 10-31-2011, 01:02 AM. -

Re: Problem with fuser on mpc4500
The customer is setting the machine to run the stock as "Thick Paper 2" (can't remember if this machine has "Thick 3" or not), this usually sorts out most issues to do with ghosting/offsetting on heavy coverage jobs on thick stock.
I'd leave the coil as an absolute last resort as it's an expensive part and also it isn't very easy to get at. I've had to replace them in the past but only usually when they've gone completely and taken out their invertor board with them.Comment

"I plan to increase by 2 / 3 points, the temperature of the heat roller by 1.105.30_36 sp and sp 1.105.122_123 for the pressure roller"
Reverse the above plan. Stop the page before it hits the fuser, is there anything unusual going on CQ wise?Comment
