    [Misc] Need direction

    Purchased a used Ricoh 3045 Super G3 from a bank auction with hard drive removed so I purchased a comparable hard drive from e-Bay and plugged it in (did not format).
    Plugged in USB & Ethernet cable, downloaded & installed PCL 5e Driver, PCL6 Driver for Universal Print & Printer Switcher and installed. Tried all the combinations I could imagine (not much) but only the copier is working. Printer will not read from CPU. I have been fiddling with this thing for eleven months.
    What steps would you suggest to enable this machine?

      Is the machine equipped with the Printer/Scanner SD-card? Maybe they also removed this SD-Card. It should be located behind a small metal cover just above the network cable.

          The three slots; C1 printer/scanner, C2 PostScript3 or Data Overwrite & C3 service are all empty. So are slots 1 & 2

              The three slots are empty. C1 - printer / scanner, C2 - data overwrite security or postscript3 & C3 - service slot.
              Also slot 1 & 2 are empty
              Are you thinking an additional investment will be required?

                  Also, there should be selection buttons on the operation panel of the machine labeled printer and scanner; located just below the Fax button if I recall correctly. If these button are not there, then a print/scan option was never installed, and thus can not be used to print or scan.
                  A Ricoh Service Tech for 7 year. A Konica Minolta Service Tech for 7 years. Now, KM service manager for 4 years.
                  My Ricoh knowledge is slowly dwindling away at this point. Many things have been lost to time...
