Just RTFM - I guess people have better things to do than teaching end-user basics here but maybe you'll find somebody who's bored enough.

You can find the basics her, not specific to Ricoh, but all the same:

          =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

To the best of my knowledge, you can't scan to an email account that uses an encrypted connection. In that the case, you'll need to use something like 'Stunnel' alongside a Gmail account

I've never actually used these documents, but I assume that they are correct. If not, RTFM.

Just went through the MP5002 tutorial on Ricoh Connects, it supports Scan to Web Mail (SMTP over SSL). Looks like Ricoh is getting on board to what the customer is demanding. It will probably be the standard going forward on new models.
