[Misc] New modified Drums for MPc2500-4500

    Morning all
We received a consignment of drums today for the older Mpc25/4500 machines and they have been modified and given a new part no. B2242042. Does anyone know if they can be modified to run as colour drums like their predecessor

    Cheers

No problem with the previous modding method, but as I haven't used one in the field yet I was checking to see if the sneaky buggers had changed anything else on them to try and stop us..

Are these from Ricoh. I just received some drum units also and all were b223.

They certainly are from Ricoh, on the delivery note it shows the part number B2232042 being replaced by B2242042.

I noticed that ricoh changed the front cover of the drum unit for the SPC811 supplies (looks like SPC820/MPC2800 series). Maybe this change has been applied to the copier drum units as well - nothing fance, one might not re-use the old cover though if the screw-points are differently located.

The way the charge roller unit is attached is different, it's screwed into place and there are changes to the rear end of the frame. But as I say, I haven't had the oppertunity to slide one into a machine yet

Interesting. It SHOULD work, if you can still shave the connector.

I wonder if this is what they finally came up with as the "Fix". We were returning all the used PCUs to Ricoh for awhile with a pre-paid UPS sticker that came with the new PCU.

I haven't had any charge roller issues lately, so I thought they had already taken care of it.

Modified because of poor drum cleaning, or something else?

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                  1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                  2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                  3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                  4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

Interesting, I'll have a nosey when I get one replenished to me. No mention of parts changes on Tessa.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                      Hit it.

Glad someone else has seen it, was starting to think I was going mad.

Bout time they sorted them, the amount of new pcu's we had to return that had been broken before they arrived here. The charge roller assy would snap where they pivot.
