Probably some smart arse that changed it.

    Thanks
I see this often. The DIPRINT protocol is the one required for 9100 RAW. All others can be disabled.

First, this problem has been solved, and I beleive there are very few (if any) laptops built for WIn7 that require a cross-over anymore.

Don't know if "DIPRINT" even exists on this model, however you certainly can NOT disable the other protocols for several reasons: if you require MAC printing, 'appletalk' must be on, and scanning requires the 'SMB' protocol (just to name a couple reasons)

The problem has been solved, but users still look for answers in the thread. Giving possibly inaccurate information, can lead to time wasted troubleshooting.
Many smaller companies are not fortunate enough to provide thier techs with the newest laptops, so we cannot assume this is supported. There are many copier techs new to technology, who may not understand this.

DIPRINT is the 3rd protocol listed in the TCP/IP menu on all Ricoh copiers. SMB is not on this list, it is in a seperate menu. The SMB menu will only affect SMB printing, not scanning. All other protocols listed in the TCP/IP menu are printing protocols per the Security Reference Manual and may be disabled, although rarely are.
Mac OS10.x can use Bonjour, but is recommended to use TCP/IP (9100Raw or LPR).

It was not my intention to be critical of your comment, only to correct what i saw as mis-information. My apologies.

Actually, my apologies are in order.
When I saw the post that all protocols were turned off, I thought he was referring to the protocols under 'interface settings' on the machine itself, rather than in the WIM, but that would have disabled some of the features that he was able to use (ie: pinging, and logging into WIM). It also explains why he had such difficulty troubleshooting the problem , that's not a place you'd expect an end user to be messing with.
          Thanks for clarifying
          P.S. Welcome to the forum!
