dont know, never seen it jam when i've been there. customer doesnt complain about it but as its shows a high jam rate in 1 section then im a bit concerned about it.

Havent been there for a bit so havent had a chance to look at it. Its not jammed when im there, power on jams are a lot lower now (bridge unit switches been replaced a few months ago). I am tempted to replace the whole exit section if needed. Fuser never gets rebuilt anymore I just stick a printer version on. If or when I get a chance to look at it I'll report back and thanks for the replies.

I know you said PM items were well within their range. I had a fuser misfeed issue on this model a while back, and it ended up being the paper transfer roller assembly. The plastic coating was worn off around the metal fingers causing the paper to catch on it sometimes.

customer hasnt complained about it but i noticed it when i replaced a drum when checking the machine over.

3 power on jams - not concerned
25 in fuser exit - replaced all exit rollers about a month ago.

    any ideas?
Have you had it jam whilst you have been testing the machine so you can see where the paper is jamming? I have had two customers with MPC 3500's with fuser exit jamming in both cases the lead edge of the print was going under the stripper bar. This only seemed to happen intermittently perhaps one in 500 prints & only on high coverage prints. I found that in both cases that the stripper bar was not sitting flush with the fuser belt. On one customer I managed to get away with just changing the stripper bar, the other customer ended up being a complete fuser rebuild in the end so I'm guessing it may have been the Hot roller wearing. Both customers fusers where @ around 75% life. Maybe worth looking at if you have not done so already.

    Suck eggs like this...

Have you got a decent lead edge registration set? They may be doing thick colour when you're not looking.

Are the rollers on the fuser guide that transport to the duplex unit seated correctly?

Are the rollers in the exit unit turning freely? The do seize intermittently.

Finally, the cover sensors in the bridge unit for the power on jams.

Other than that, I have nowt.

    Re: mpc3500 fuser exit jams

    Hi
I had a headache on a mpc5501, exit jams and turning the front corner on a random basis. I could not see a damned thing wrong in the exit unit, ended up replacing the entire unit. I'm waiting to get one of these machines in the shop so I can try the old unit out on it to see if I can find the fault... Hate being beaten by a machine!!

Out of interest, what jam code is the machine calling up?

    Cheers

Check out this part of the exit unit...and lub everything
As you see on the 2.pic...guide plate was deformed.
Its from mpc3300...but i think its similar.

Power on jams = two sensor in the brige unit need replacing as well as updating the firmware.
Try tappimg the bridge unit and you should see the alarm light come on/off

Re exit jams = clean the separator bar on the fuser belt and change the bearings. Also lubricate the bushings at exit unit. The nylon drive gear fails.
    good luck
