Verticle Lines on Gestetner A045 Wide format ???

    Any ideas ...

    I've cleaned everything.
    Replaced the toner.

I get verticle streak lines occassionally when copying and printing from computer.

When COPYING, I UNselect the Auto Image Density button and adjust it 1-2 marks lighter and the streaks get lighter but are still there.

Do you think it could be the Drum Cleaning Blade?

Anyone have diagram explosion of the Gestetner A045/Aficio 240W 2400WD LW310 ??? I am a very visual person.

the drum cleaning blade would give you black lines not white, maybe dirt (paper dust) on the development doctor blade. but thats a job for Techs.

Sounds like it needs the charge and grid wires replaced or at least cleaned. I've noticed these machines like to be well ventilated i.e. not shoved in a corner or small enclosure. I've observed more ozone build up on wires when cramped for space too. When the charge wires get old they will give you random dark streaks in the feed direction. If the machine hasn't had the cleaning blade replaced or if it is time for a PM then it could be the drum and or blade.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.

The machine is in a well ventilated area up front where the air can get to it very easily. It is only making black (marble looking) verticle lines down the prints & copies.

Sounds like it is a charge issue. If you can eliminate the issue by temporarily raising (numerically) the charge voltage, then I'd replace the charge and grid wires. I wouldn't use the increased charge voltage as a fix as it will accelerate drum wear and is not really fixing the machine.

Yes, I know what a charge corona and grid are.

My regular tech is not trained on this exact machine,
just other oversize wide formats and I was trying assist in
trouble shooting problems before paying for him to come out
and troubleshoot on my dollar. I already called him and spoke to him about this and he didn't have any idea beside the cleaning blade
and I could hear the unsurety in his voice that he was just shooting in the dark on the guess.

The machine does not continue to do it all the time.
Like this morning I printed 18 copies with no problems or lines.
But yesterday, every copy had it on it in some place..

vertical streak lines are caused by laser polygon mirror, you must
take apart laser unit, take out laser polygon mirror if possible and clean
metal jag witn alcohol and very little lubricate it.

With out seeing it it sounds like the charge assembly needs cleaned. It's a labor intensive process to get out the unit, as the developer and drum units should be removed to avoid damaging the drum. If you explain or send examples to a service provider they should be able to give you an estimate on time and price to look at the machine.

If you own/operate a print for pay shop, consider it a cost of operation. You can have you local tech look at it, but you will get your moneys worth with a factory trained tech. If he damages the drum getting the charge unit out, you're looking at several thousand dollars to replace it.

                            Just my $.02

This unit doesn't have a polygon mirror, it uses LED print heads to write the image.
