    SC 542 on A1035/45

this refer to fixing unit temperature rise abnormally.probebly cause is the thermister.
sometime it works but sometime doesn't work.somebody told me about the Hot roller maybe too thick, cause i using the OEM replacment parts.
    is it possibilty?

    please submit your opinion.

The parts manual calls for AE011064 but there is an alternate number AE011071. It's been to long for me to remember what one is correct. But I do remember it being a problem.

The above part numbers that Keith gave you are correct, any one will fit, theres a difference in the shaft where the clamp fits in, the thickness is the same 39,8mm,
      try firmware related to SC542

I Had this code on another model, and it was related to the Thermostat's. The Copier was sat infront of a radiator and it's freezing around here at the moment. No brainer to the cause :P Part number's B027 4095

The AE01 1071's I've used frequently and give me no problems relating to SC codes.

The Aficio 1055 had the same problem with the rollers and t.stats.and the wires to the the lamps could short to the frame if in installed incorrectly.

Replace both thermistors (AW100085 and AW100086). You may want to change the reload minus temperature to -45 and drop the fusing temp by 5 degrees. I believe the number for the hot roller is now AE011115.

I fit the AE01-1071 hot roller to the Adonis C2 and C3 (1035/45 and 2035/45) as they both use the same type thermistors (AW10 0052/0053)

However I fit the AE01-1115 hot roller to the C4 and C4.5 (3035/45 and MP3500/4500) as they use different type thermistors (AW10 0085/0086 and AW10 0111/0112 respectively)

I think (but don't quote me on this) that the later 1115 hot roller is thinner to facilitate a quicker warm up time, but the change in part number of the thermistor indicates that perhaps the two aren't fully interchangeable.

You'd probably get away with the later type hot roller on an older machine as the thinner hot roller would cause the fuser to get to operating temperature ahead of time. Whereas an older thicker hot roller on a newer machine may cause an SC541/542 error as the fuser maybe wouldn't reach operating temperature within the specified time.

SC54x codes on machines of this family that have over 400K on them can be caused by defective fusing unit harness. We ran about 600 Aficio 1035/45 boxes in a school system. We found this issue often enough so I carried a harness in my parts stock.

Which harness,is it the wire inside the fixing unit?

Yes, this is the small harness within the fuser. P/N B0044117 for 120 V. machines, B0044127 for 230 V.
