Was doing a firmware update. While machine was updating when a message of bad firmware download appeared on display. I powercycled machine and now it will not come out of "please wait" on display at boot up. It also will not boot with SDcard. Any thoughts or did I make a "brick" of the controller by updating firmware with sd card? Any help appreciated.

Re: Lanier LD425c (b230) firmware failure
which part of firmware did you try to update?
you can only force system to boot up from sd card, all other will fail. if the error occurs on engine update, you will be in need to replace bicu boardIf sometimes you feel a little useless, offended and depressed always remember that you were once the fastest and most victorious sperm of hundreds of millions! -

The engine and system firmware updated normally. I think it was in the middle of the fax firmware update when it cacked on meI've proved mathematics wrong. 1 + 1 doesn't always equal 2.........

Re: Lanier LD425c (b230) firmware failure
I powercycled too soon before checking for e-code. That is part of my plan to remove fax, hdd, etc and hopefully it will come back to life. I have had one in the past that was stuck on please wait and had to replace NVRam. I suppose the same might happen here. I have also heard somewhere of someone shorting pins on NVram to reset, wonder if that works?I've proved mathematics wrong. 1 + 1 doesn't always equal 2.........

Re: Lanier LD425c (b230) firmware failure
I wouold refer to the manual about the procedure to boot from the SD card, asI know on several of the Ricoh boxes you have to set a dip switch on the controller to boot from the SD card. Also E codes usually have to be cleared through the Factory sp mode. You can find referance on how to acesss this mode in many other posts.Mystic Crystal RevelationsComment

In case you don't have the manual available:

Re: Lanier LD425c (b230) firmware failure (fixed)
Thanks to those who replied. The solution however came from Goose's Guide. It appears on firmware failure that you can do clear modes,1,4,3, stop(3x) and turn off power. This resets the firmware to previous versions before failure. I corrected corrupt file on card and powered back up. Firmware loaded normally.I've proved mathematics wrong. 1 + 1 doesn't always equal 2.........
