    ricoh - background on copies

I need once and forever find out how to get off backgroud on copies,
    specialy with Ricoh aficio copiers.

Just now i have Ricoh aficio 200, PCU have made 25K kopies .

I cleaned charge corona, contacts , used grafit paste on contacts.

    still is background.

Please do not tell me to change drum or developer.I am sure it will not help.

some simulations? dev. bias? primary charge? contacts?

Confusing There is a lot of things to be considered when resolving background on copies, What type of background? Snowy? darked spotted? even background or uneven? What are the effects on the image, light? or dark? or emboss? Are you using original toner or oem? did you try to adjust the toner bias to higher value? Give some more details so i can help you to configure it out.

every time i had alternative toner, but i still used this toner - no problem.
i try to specific the problem : it is like fly ash, flue dust. /if you remeber
minolta ep 1050 - when developer reached 150k copies and more/.
Image in normal but there where have to be paper white is flue dust /not paper or another dust , but toner dust/.

Once I had too strong background /aficio 1015/ - so it was transfered on
lower transfer corona and after on back side of paper.I did not know what
to do. I changed developer+initialized, changed drum, changed toner.
Finaly i was told to cleane contact for upper corona and problem disappeared.

i am sory about my english

yes , it is snowy, what is toner bias ? is it developing bias?
when i changed developing bias to be image darkest, the background appeared more

I haven't seen one of these in ages. I thought they were obsolete 7 years ago?

          From Gooses Notes:

          1) Change these settings: SP2-999 to '0', SP2-996 to '120', SP2-994 to '10', SP2-911 to '2', & SP2-201 to '600'.

          2) Bad high voltage power supply board.

          3) Bad PCU (they're only good for 45k...).

Are you sure this isn't over-toning? It was very common on these.

          =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

sure ,not overtoned , but reversely

            1) these setting controls image density. I have not problem with image
            density.
            2) possibly, but given that it is not by far only one machine, i think not help
            3) I would like change PCU, but i worked only 25K

it is possible accept these fact -
            1) the toner not original - developer is not able to retain this toner
            2) must by any magnetic or electric power, what have efect to retain toner retained the developer/Drum grund contact/.

doesnt metter, some mystery , by the time i eplore the problem, i tell you.

If you are replace toner type with other(compatepel toner) you will see over tonering if it is
you must caleprate density toner in developer after that make som calipration in toner sensor to be 2 +(-)10%

These models have gone the way of the dinosaur.
I would suggest if customer is that bothered about the CQ that they part with some money and buy a new machine.
