my client has a ricoh 2035 copier which displays empty waste toner bottle yet the machine has toner what could be the problem your assitance will be appreciated

The waste toner container on the transferbelt is full, and needs to be emptied. -

Allow me to re-phrase the previous reply. The waste toner tank IS underneath the transfer belt unit. If the message remains after you have apparently emptied it, then make sure you clean the sensor better, or replace it. some times wast toner sensor coated with isolate layer scratch it with solid silk and put it again in his position.Comment

follow their advices above and clean the sensor. if the message is still there then access the sp mode and look for the waste toner mode and change 1 to 0.Comment

Just note that if you do change the 1 to 0, you will need to periodically check the machine and empty the used toner, as in that setting, you will no longer get notification when it's full. It will continue to operate and make one heck of mess inside the machine when it eventually overflows. Also will start to affect quality of the copies, with toner sticking to the back side of the paper.
This, of course, is once it fill up again. The setting itself won't cause these issues to just start happening.A Ricoh Service Tech for 7 year. A Konica Minolta Service Tech for 7 years. Now, KM service manager for 4 years.
