I am suppose to go set this fuser error tommorrow and I cannot find out how to get into the SPmode SP 5-810-02

You will not see 5810 as an option until the machine sees the fuse in place.

So do I just plug in fuse, turn machine on and it will tell me what to do? Or do I have to go into SPMode and it will show up there once the fuse is in place? If that is case how do I get machine into SP Mode?

Has anyone actually fitted one of these fuses yet, I have got a fuse and an old fuser, I just wanted to find out where the fuse fits before I let the rest of my team know about this part. I may be being thick, but I can't find where to plug it in, there is one spare, unused plug on the fuser, but the pins are too far apart for the fuse to plug into it, I can find nowhere else it could possibly fit, does anyone have a photo showing the location of it please

Thanks for that, I was looking at the right plug, I pushed the pins slightly closer together and managed to get the new fuse to fit

As a preemptive measure I would like to save the nvram data to an SD card and then save on my computer. My question is, will a generic SD card work or would it have to be a Ricoh specific and then when I put this back onto SD card from computer and back into the machine is there a specific file name that the machine will look for?

Any SD card will do. Best use an old Java card that comes with the machines (if formatted and no longer needed) or a small card 512-1GB should be ok. If you save the NVRAM you will also save the SC error, so best fix that first then backup, or (which you should be doing anyway) backup/print non-defaults before you install.

Good afternoon Debs N and others,

In the interests of accuracy and clarity:-

The fuse shown is not the correct one for this machine but from a "Zeus" machine.

The part number for the correct fuse has never been (and may never be?) issued by Ricoh Japan.

The Ricoh official policy still requires the replacement of the fuser assembly in case of an overheat SC code as a Health and Safety precaution.

Shortly, however, you will discover that a thermal fuse will be included within the box when a new fuser sleeve roller assembly spare part is ordered. This is to enable the reset of the overheat SC codes where this event has been initiated by a torn or damaged fuser belt.

I just used the fuse MC4502 and it worked fine to clear SC554. The connector was smaller than the connector I plugged it in to but the pins went in the holes.

I was "informed" that if I put in this fuse before there is a problem that the machine will think it has a new fuser installed and blow the fuse....What's up with that?????
