The original solution according to Ricoh is to replace the fusing unit with a new service replacement unit and then run SP 5810. The current procedure is to repair what ever the actual problem is and while you have the fusing unit apart, replace the reset fuse and then run SP 5810. The reset fuse comes with packed with all new fusing sleeves or can be ordered separately or sourced locally.

Anyone found a solution to getting more life out of theese fuser sleeves? Just had one rip on me, I only replaced it 90k ago!? Customer is only printing on plain paper.
Tried leaving out the stripper plate but that can cause jams on full colour.
03 fusers dont seem to have this issue, seems to me the 02 sleeve is simply poor quality.

Iam not sure, but is there not a new partnummber on the fusing unit? After a replace with D142-4011 I think it will work more than 90k?? And yes, with a quick fix you can use this fusing to all -02 (inside it is the same like the d144-4011). At least what I found out.

D142 is for the MPC3002/MPC3502, D144 is for the MPC4502/MPC5502, the lamps are rated differently, and the base plates are different shapes too, these shouldn't be interchanged

Are you sure? I have used about 20 of d142 and no one got a prob. Or cameback. I have looked at the lamped and found out they are the same (looked at the text on them). But I can be wrong was a long time ago I checked.
maybe there will be a prob. With the d142 on mpc 5502 if the run a lot of 250g paiper insted of 80g (plain)??

The lamps on the D142 and D144 fusing sleeve are different.

The D144 sleeve having the stronger lamps would probably be fine in the slower models as you suggest.

One of our techs did mistakenly fit a D142 sleeve to a 5502 fuser in the field and it did throw intermittent thermistor service codes until we spotted the problem.
The assumption being the lower rated lamps couldn't maintain the correct target temp at the higher speed.

Hello, today i have recived my first Sc 554 error in MPC 4502 i plan to order the fuse to reset the code is it allowed to put the fuse in fuser that comes from factory to reset the code, what i have viewed the the fuser is in good condition and the error has appeared with no reasons while printing plain paper.

What's the PM counter on the sleeve?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                              Hit it.

First, check out if lamps are ok. If not, replace them first; perhaps together with thermistors.
