    envelope printing

Im wondering how to get my mpc3500 to print odd size envelopes???
i have 8 x 5 xmas cards and the envelopes will not print, from by pass , in the tray i have to use a5,still not centered
how do i program the bypass in print?I will not accept my custom settings, even from web access,
is there an override in the driver somewhere?
by the way it copies the size just fine from the bypass???
how do i unlock it to do the same for printing?
    thanks

Can you print to the document server and then print from the machine correctly?

when you setup the job are you using MS word or some other app?? Word will over ride your print driver settings. So if you go to printer properties and select bypass, custom size, ect and word page setup says page size says it's something else the job will use the settings from word. Setup the page size and type in word to match what you need in the print driver, aka custom size 8x5 short edge feed thick 1. DOn't call it an envelope just a custom size. If size andd type don't match the machine you'll get the red light to correct this. The machine should be set for PC control in printer features. DOn't complain when the envelope comes out with some wrinkles!!!

And why do people always want to run a folded up glued together piece of paper through a mfp?.......

Can u use duplex ( print on both sides of paper) when printing?
If u can copy on the odd size paper but cant print ,my guess is that u need to "play" with the settings from printer driver (preferences and properties)

          Never a pleasant experience.

The machine simply isn't designed for it.

There is a envelope kit for these machines. It is designed for tray 2 only.

I have a couple of clients with them and they work a charm. They do kill fusers though, only annoying thing.....

Nowhere in this thread is the model mentioned, unless I'm being silly and just missing it

As an example, I looked in the product support guide for the MPC3500, and saw no mention of an envelope accessory for it.

Perhaps it's only for certain models, and maybe not available in the US?

I haven't worked on Ricoh in a while but I suspect that if you select envelope media type, you will be limited to three or four standard envelope sizes. On the other hand, if you select thick paper (same heat setting), you may still be able to set a custom paper size. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

                      Re: envelope printing

Here in Australia there is definately a envelope feeder kit.

I will see if we have one in our demo room and take a picture of it

As for fusing, you actually want to bump the heat down as much as possible as it helps not sticking the glue tab to the envelope, also helps with creasing
