Not recomended, but if you have a good copy quality try first: do 2-801 and only after that should you do 2-805, bye the way also do 3-001 2 ID adjust, but i´ll suggest you clean out the machine, then put in a new developer because these bold SP are done only once, All Ricoh TECHs know that!
Tell me, are you still a rookie? I only ask because you have so many problems, our machine are not that problematic as your thread state, ask your BOss to get you some training on these machines, you´ll have to understand how they work or else your going to pass your days asking the most strange question ever. Did you understand how our machine adds toner, How Vsp and Vsg works? thats the basic, for the machine to work on the fly PM to PM.
Don´t be mad at me but its true, I´ll try to help when ever I can.
    Know hard feelings OK.

First, remove the drum and clean the image density sensor that reflects from the drum surface. If that does not solve the issue, disconnect the hard drive and try turning the machine on again. Hard drive issues can also cause an SC 990. It does sound more like the dirty sensor issue to me.

Problem doing SP2805,,,,, try something simple like reseating the dev unit and possibly the pcu before getting too involved with other checks.

          SC990

Replace The Right Front Interlock Switches Above The Fuser Unit. There Sre 3 Of Them. They Get Toner Buildup On Them.
Also Redo The Laser 400and 600 Dpi Settings.

I have had this where it was not only the dev set-up that caused it, but anything you tried to save in sp mode or print out such as smc reports.

I solved it by changing the BICU board.

Try changing something like the service telephone number or doing a print of the smc reports. If it does it then, it could be the BICU. If it doesnt do it then, ignore this message as im probably not much help.

                Good Luck.

Seen this before a hell of a lot, new drum always solves the problem.

With regard to the SP2-805 problem, on the training course for this machine we were told this SP is like doing forced process control on the Martini...
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                      Hit it.

801 - sets up TD sensor,
805 agitates Developer to give it a triboelectric charge which then helps it to be ready for 3001-2

                        Hope this helps.

It could be the drum. How many miles on it? Those babies go 150k and thats about it. Did you get the Vsp and Vsg? Give us something to go on.

I've never had to use 2-805, but then again I've never installed an Adonis/whatever you want to call it. I use 2-801 for TD Set up after a Dev install and that's it.
