This machine will code every few days in the making copies. I have cleaned it and checked the connections on the mother board, and code came back a couple of days later. Any ideas?

Reform the metal grounding plate on the back of tray 1 so that it makes good contact with the frame. There was a technical bulletin on this.
SYMPTOMS:
• SC929 occurs
• Paper jams
• Intermittent digital lines appear on copies
CAUSE:
Electrical noise is being generated and it causes image control to function incorrectly. The possible symptoms caused by the electrical noise are SC929s, paper jams, and intermittent digital lines on copies.
Static electricity is the source of this electrical noise.
SOLUTION:
One or both grounding plates on the bottom of the main body paper cassette may not be making proper contact. Reform or replace the grounding plates so that they make proper electrical contact.

Thanks, that sounds like a good tip. I only have 5 of these in my area and this is the only one I have ever had issue with. They seem to be great machines. The greatest enemy of knowledge isn't ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge. Stephen HawkingComment

Your tip seems to be dead on. I made the adjustment on monday and checked it yesterday. No more codes. Thanks for the help! The greatest enemy of knowledge isn't ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge. Stephen HawkingComment
