    Hi there

Most probably there's a problem with original width detection in document feeder. Go into SP mode >> 6-016 (ADF Original Size Detection) and check what happens when you slightly bend the ADF's original table. If the values change unscrew original table and improve contact between size detection board and its sliding copper-made electrode. All the best

Usually it's just the sensors on the DF feed tray that become coated in dust since they face upward, and the DF senses that there is paper. Wipe/blow them off and it should be fine

Really this is not going to help in case of A5 paper size..

Those sensors - if activated - detect A4 SEF and larger sizes i.e. A3. A5 will never cover/activate them. Regards

Maybe or maybe not. Metric paper sizes make my head swell up.
The nice thing is that it will only take 3.7 seconds to find out if I'm wrong.

Does the machine display A5 paper in the appropriate paper drawers? If not, there is a sensor behind the drawers that sometimes gets knocked out of position that will cause the machine to incorrectly detect paper size.
