    Getting a SC543 on a C220N (G165)

    Howdy all...

Thought I would ping some brains here on this...

This is a new machine with about 5 pages on it and I am getting a SC543 High Temperature Detection Error

I have 120 at continuity 120v at the Fuser when testing with the sides open. Pulled the fuser and check the thermistor which looks fine. Connectors and harness look fine.

Manual says I have a Defective I/O control (EGB) and I need to replace the EGB. Somehow I dont think this is correct. Why would it print 5 pages one place then move to a new location then throw the SC543?

    Any ideas?

Is the thermal fuse good. If it's open you may get that code. Some of them can be reset otherwise you have to replace. Also did you ohm lamp??

Yup fuse is good and checked voltage at the power supply. I did not ohm the lamp, just disconnected and checked for continuity.

By that I meant continuity through the lamp. Can you see if it lights when you power on??

          I'm assuming..

I'm Assuming the move was from your setup location to the customer site.
I would first consider the machine was bounced a bit in transit.
Your getting a good indication that you most likely dealing with a loose connector of your Engine board ( EGB ) turn /off unplug blah blah.. and reset all your boards and connectors . also check your thermistors to make sure there still in good contact with the hot roller if one was out of adjustment at one end it could heat incorrectly thus the overheat error.. another idea came to mind.. Anti humidity mode also increases the voltage try turning it off..just some ideas..good Luck.

            Thanks to everyones input.

I reseated all the connectors for the 2nd time and reset the the code again through the SOM and it came right up. Printed 10 test pages no problem.

This printer is throwing the code again Apparently the customer got tired of the problem and shelved the printer for a while till they needed it again.

I am about to order a entire fuser for it unless there is some wisdom here that some one can pass on
