    [CQ] SPC 830

    Hi Guys

I am having problems with a SPC 830 that does not want to make solid copies when using 300gram paper. See picture

On 80gram paper its looks fine.

    Any idees?

The highest weight paper that this machine is supposed to do is 220gsm. You might be able to get a better image if you bump up the fuser temp, but I never recommend that. Putting the machine out of spec to run a heavier paper than spec for the machine is never a good idea. If you're running the machine at the thick 2 with a card stock setting through the bypass tray then that maybe the best you're going to get.

On the machine specifications it states that it can run 52 - 300 g/m paper through the bypass.

My apologies, I must have been looking at the wrong manual yesterday. It is probably the fact that 300gsm paper is the max weight for the machine and that it was not built for large areas of solids being a business color printer. I haven't seen good results with solids except on the c900 and c 651 series machines on 300 gsm. Have you tried different brands and types of 300 gsm papers? Sometimes that makes a difference on the c901 that I work on.

Did you specify the paper weight settings in the machine and in the printer driver?
