mpc6000 finishing problem

i have a mpc6000 with the booklet finisher , im hole punching 11 x 17 at the top of the page, two hole, first sheet comes out second stops before the holes are punched and jams.....
8 x 11 hole punches all day mo prob... is this not supposed to punch 11 x 17 at all and its getting one through before the machine stops?
it happens print or copy...
