MPC 4000 Fuser setting error message

Hi I'm trying to help another enginner with fuser error setting message on a MPC4000,he's tried a new fuser,still the same,a IMH hdd & memory clear still the same,I'm going back with him tomorrow with a IOB board,what do u recon??

I first recommend NEVER do a memory clear to try to solve these kind of things. It will not do any good. Input all data from the Non-default (the so called birth certificate) list in the machine and pray that there will be no Service Calls.

A Fusing Setting Error means that the machine can't recognise the Fusing Unit, so checking the connector on the machine side will be the first thing to look at, assuming the Fusing Unit is OK. See if the cables are not damaged and that the connection to the Power Supply is OK.

Did you use a C4000 fuser or did you use a C820 fuser without converting it?

Fixed!!-Female fuser connector bust-part not in parts manual,had to get HQ to remove complete harness from another machine,right bitch to replace,custmoer happy-enough said

'Memory Clear' as in SC reset or the other one?
Never, ever, ever....ever do the other one unless you know how to sort that out once you've done it.... otherwise you be in a whole world of pain

I backed up the nvram & address book before doing the memory clear,then relaoded-no problems,no loss of data

That's the right way to do it. On this forum you see a lot of techs do this without the backup. Good that the machine is working again!

Had the same problem a few weeks back. I found the harness part # on the Point to Point.
