Anyone ever had this?
print calibration sheets are fine, only the copier one is like this?
print quality is fine...
Scan quality is fine...
Document server scan is fine...
copies are blurry / grainy
Does it do the same when you copy in Black/White and single color? If it's happening in full color copy then check the SBU settings from the birth certificate.
Just a FYI, my team leader has this famous saying when we ran into tough problem with a color box, "replace all suspect parts BEFORE you perform a NVRAM clear, use it as a last resort." I regret it when I first start working on a C2500 and did a CRAM without a birth certificate. The machine ended up sent back to the warehouse and it took him a few weeks to fix it.
The few times I've seen backgrounding on copies only was when the gray balance was whacked. I don't know that it would affect the calibration sheet but you should give it a check anyway.
Background when ADS Mode is turned Off
In Full Color the background is a process black, In Black and White mode the background is gray. With ADS on there is no evident backgrounding. When ADS is turned off and exposure is at the center setting, backgrounding is exhibited. Print Jobs and internal prints do not have background
[Cause]
The gray balance adjustment NV RAM Data has been corrupted and has reverted to the default value
[Resolution]
Reset the value of SP 4685 - 001 and 002, SP4686 - 001 and 002 and SP4687 - 001 and 002 to the value on the Factory Data Sheet.(Located under Jam Instruction Sheet on the Front Cover)
If the Factory Data Sheet is not available try starting with these settings and fine tuning as needed.
