    [Misc] MP C2551

I have a MP C2551 that makes a high pitched constant noise when printing, copying, etc. I have cleaned and lubed the fuser, ITB, waste toner assemblies, and several rollers. I am curious as to whether or not anyone else has had to deal with this issue and what you may have found causing this noise. And of course it is in one of quieter locations.

Some of these models had loud noises in transfer cleaning unit and/or pcu's. I would try to run the output checks under SP 5-804 and turn motors on one by one and see if you can narrow down the source of the noise. Then go from there.

The noise is on the fusing unit. I have some MPC 2051/2551 with this problem. I temporarily solved lubricating the inner part of the fusing belt.

if its a real high pitched squeak try flipping the lube bars in the pcu around. there is also a bulletin for the lube bar springs. search the forum, this has already been posted elsewhere

Dude i reckon its the brass bushings in the PCU....put a bit of grease on them. Real common on this model. Even when fitting brand new PCU's I lube both brass bushes.

weve had the same prblem down here in cape town.this mostly happens when using the thick setting as the machine is running slower.the hot roller is turning inside a sleeve.thats where the noise comes from.grease the inside of the sleeve.that should solve ur prblem

If the noise sounds to be from the fuser area when duplexing, try the driven rollers in the duplex unit. I was just on one Friday and that was what I found.
