[Jamming] Jam on exit, Finisher SR 970

    Hello

i have a strange problem on two SR 970 finisher.....both jams on paper exit (upper and lower exit), making a very bad noise, sounds like some vibrations comming from the motor...i swapped the motor with one from another working SR 970 , but still the same problem.....the paper comes out only a half.........then jams, and this noise...
sometimes it works for 30 or 40 copies, but when i touch the exit roller it stopps immediately making the noise
    some idea?????

    Thank you

You need to print a smc report. It will tell you a jam code pointing to the culprit sensor.

Lube the roller bushings with a high quality penetrating oil, because they are binding.

Probably not much help, but I've had all kinds of things break in these. Check all the stays and shafts are where they are supposed to be and not flopping around inside.

I have your solution,, replace it and throw away the old one, these get worn out and break in all kinds of weird things happen
the lift tray gear could be cracked and intermittently coming apart at stress times...

99.99% that the bushings cause this. Just had the same last week. The bushings are getting full of dirt and that causes the exit motor to make the vibrating noise, and causes the jam. As stated above, cleaning and lubricating them will solve it.

Hi I have had a similar problem with some models finisher, searching I found that the problem was the old firmware I had, the machines were used and the seller had changed the finisher. so update the firmware and fix the problem that the paper was stuck in the middle of the output.
                I hope you can help
