Ricoh MP C3003 PCDU price hike?

Anybody else just cop a 400% price rise on the MP C3003 / 6003 colour PCDU (D1862211)?

For a while there is was a lot cheaper to buy a PCDU rather then a separate drum and dev unit but now they have decided to hammer us with a huge price hike. Is this world wide or just Ricoh Oz being bitchy?

Nobody buys colour PCUs anymore. Is there a mod for the black PCU? I haven't had a need to do a colour PCU replacement yet.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Rubin but the drums on the '03 series are unique and aren't interchangeable with any other copier. You can't even use the black as a colour.

I have done a couple of Dev units after they developed (hur hur) massive deletions. Can't buy just the developer alone so.....

We've worked out that for the price of the 4 PCDU's and a Fuser that we can buy a whole 3003 and have spare boards, feed units etc for free so are just doing that from now on. I can't see the reasoning on how that works but I was the one who did the math (more than once, I couldn't actually believe it was right) and then the boss confirmed it.

Yes, we did the maths on that one as well. Not sure I can talk the Boss into it as its only the PCDU's and feed units that you can use across the range. Our fleet is mainly 4503 and 5503's that use different fusers so then the economics don't quite add up.

I know this is an old treat, but is it possible to adjust a black pcu to a color one?
And if yes, how?

Use parts from new K pcu to rebuild colour pcu.

we use a KIT to rebuild these no clue where we get it from

in the kit is a Green opc ( looks like a tosh one) , charge roller and cleaner , lube bar , cleaning blades , lube roller takes about 45mins to strip down and replace

Davel: As far as i can see, there is no part number for a drum, cl blade, cha rol,...
Is it possible to buy those parts somewhere?

Just wondering if any of you geniuses has found a cheaper alternative to these Metis PCU replacement yet?

Thought about fitting the SPC840DN PCU However the manual only lists the PCDU unit?

I have seen there are "after market kits" however I prefer to use genuine due to their trusted PM life.
