[Jamming] Ricoh Pro900C - Problems with colored thick paper

    Hello

I would really appreciate your help with this.

I have a Ricoh Pro900C and I have a lot of problems with thick paper in different colors. Basically I can't print thick paper in color green and blue, even when the machine has concrete features for these papers, like it has for glossy paper, non coated, texturized...

The problem is always the same: the machine feeds it, print, fusing... but doesn't goes "outside" the machine, it always falls down to the E section, next to the oil department.

Anybody has that problem too?, it's too disgusting to print 100 sheets of green paper knowing that I'll have a jamming every 2 sheets... a completely waste of time.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Not overly familiar with this Model, however i recently spent a good couple of hours trying to configure a ricoh MPC3500 to work with a specific colour paper. I eventually resolved to put it as thin coloured paper and hey presto, it worked. if the image is being dragged off the page then tell it that its thinner and see how it plays.

Spend some time messing with the settings, not sure there is any real concrete setup i always find that a bit of tinkering and perseverance gets me over the line.

    Good luck!

Im not sure about marking that paper like thin paper knowing that it is a 250 grs/m2 paper. Isn't it a risk for the fusion unit?... Anyway, I'll try to print it changing the configuration.

About the double sheet detection, I changed it but it didn't work :-/

        Thanks for your advices!

Re: Ricoh Pro900C - Problems with colored thick paper

Are you attempting to print this 250 gm/m2 media from the paper trays? Take a look at the machine specs:

You can print up to 218 gm/m2 from any of the paper trays, and up to 290 gm/m2 only from the bypass tray.

I'm just curious why you would purchase a color copier, then print onto dark green paper. You must know that you can only get true colors from white paper. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

BC the standard pro c900 doesn't come with a bypass. If he's got the optional LCIT then he should be feeding that media from tray 3 or 4 with the correct media weight and paper type settings.

It sounds as though he needs one. =^..^=

Dude man, I'm like, what the jam code is? Without the jam code it's just going to be a wild ass guess! (WAG)

Sounds like a problemo' with the CIS sensor having a hard time seeing the colored paper, try turning off the CIS sensor.

Good night and have a nice flight.

Anytime this machine dumps into the "E" section it's caused by a downstream jam ( ie: an exit or finisher jam of some kind). RTFM !!!!!!!!

What are the finishing options on this machine and WTF is the jam code?????????

Even if your an end user the code will be shown on the display !!!!!!!!!

Blackcat4866, this machine hasn't got a bypass because you can feed thick paper in the LCIT 3 or 4 trays. And I know that I won't get a true color in dark green paper. I only use coloured paper with black toner. I don't know there, but in Spain it is very common to print tickets or coupons in coloured paper and black toner. Clients always ask for cheaper prices and this is a way to get them.

The code that shows the display when I get the paper jam is J098. I tried to print a copy today with that paper just to get the error code.

                    Thanks for your help!

Goose's Guide and the service manual both say CIS skew detection sensor.

fix the customer first then fix the machine... its simple and makes life more easy.

I had to print another work in blue/green paper and I followed your advices... they worked!. Turning off the Skew detection was enough, I printed the job without any paper jam.

Thanks for your time and help
